About our Employment Services

If you have a long term health condition or disability, we are able to help you plan your career and find sustainable, meaningful employment. We work with you and employers to find jobs that fit, and support both the employee and employer to enjoy the working relationship.

Our Disability Employment Services are funded by MSD (Employment Service) and ACC (Living my Life Services). Learn more about ACC Living My Life Services.

Nothing! Though your approach may need fine tuning. Through our processes we can assist you find employment. Most businesses are small businesses, and their operators have put their heart and soul into their sustainability. It’s going to take patience and education to help many to realise that hiring disabled people isn’t the risk they think it is, in fact there may be advantages.

We are a specialised support agency who can work with you and the employer to gain appropriate work with appropriate supports in place to help you to remain in work for a sustainable outcome.

For one year we provide;

  • Initial planning and goal setting
  • Initial Job seeker profile and career plan 
  • CV preparation
  • Job search and interview support / coaching
  • comprehensive job discovery process
  • Employer research including job carving analysis
  • Job development proposal (customised employment opportunity)
  • Initial work support plan
  • Coaching and mentoring support; pastoral support
  • Self-employment /micro enterprise proposal and plan.

If you have a disability or health condition that is likely to impact your ability to work for six months or more and require support to obtain employment in addition to that provided by Work and Income service delivery then we can assist you.

Getting Involved

You can make a difference in someone’s life by getting involved with the Disability Resource Centre. You can do this with a donation or by simply volunteering your time.
