Community Journey

R’s Journey – her time at DRCHB

We recently received some very kind feedback about one of community members – R! If you have any feedback, (good or bad!) or would like to learn more, feel free to get in touch.

Since joining the Disability Resource Centre community, R has come such a long way and absolutely loves being involved. She has found a strong sense of belonging, made meaningful friendships, and enjoys learning, trying new things, and taking part in new experiences.

R has grown in confidence and independence through literacy and numeracy learning, creative activities, and volunteering – something she especially enjoys as it helps her feel valued and connected.

She also loves attending the gym and exercise sessions, which are not only great for her wellbeing but also a special time to catch up with friends and enjoy being active together.

R has a real passion for dancing and performing and was part of the Indian dance group, which she absolutely loved. She thrives when given opportunities to perform, and her happiness truly shines.

R is now continuing her journey with Eastern Bridge Education, which she is incredibly excited about. These opportunities have been made possible through the encouragement and support she has received along the way.

As R’s siblings, we are incredibly proud of how far she has come and all that she continues to achieve.

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff for their care and dedication, with a special thank you to Parvesh for the positive difference she has made in R’s journey.
