Heather is passionate about promoting the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative in her local area and encouraging more organisations to adopt it. The scheme is highly relevant to her own situation and support needs.
Recently, she’s had some great opportunities to raise awareness — including setting up a stall at a community event and attending several meetings including local councils, where she shared her personal experiences and explained the importance of the HDSS. Each conversation helps build understanding and makes every day spaces more inclusive.
