Shawn has been working on his social awareness and interactions with people around him to improve and increase his independence.

Shawn can now independently catch the bus from Napier to Hastings which has broaden his scope of everyday communication with others and activities he enjoys like attending Karate or going to different cafes.

Foto Fest 2024 brought together 35 different exhibitions around Hastings from local, national, and international photographers.

Hayden and Emily learnt how to use the QR codes on their phones to access more information.

The exhibitors map enhanced their map reading skills and took them to different venues where the photos were on display.

They both enjoyed trying to figure out where some of the local photos were taken.

It is great to see you both living your best lives, spending time together, exploring things and laughing.

The Cancer Society’s annual Daffodil Day collection provides the opportunity for our service users to volunteer and interact with a range of people.

Holly’s expression captures the pure delight and enjoyment of engaging with people donating to the cancer collection.

It was truly a WIN WIN for both Holly and the Cancer Society.

Monsters – here, there, and everywhere

Jill from Woven Earth Arts provided the opportunity for the service users to create their own interpretation of a clay monster.

Blair, Rachel, Emma and Kylie had a lot fun and laughter when it came to painting the monsters while expressing their own unique colours and designs.

The pleasure of seeing the enthusiasm and excited atmosphere was memorable.
