Socialisation and Connections

High Needs Service

About our High Needs service

High Needs Service provides a supportive, safe environment for people to access community and centre based sessions. It was initially established in 2012 for people that had been accessing Disability Resource Centre (HB) Trust services for a number of years but then required a more structured day with additional support.

Community Support Facilitators seek to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in their community in a supportive, structured environment.

Each person has an individual plan which is created in conjunction with family and Whanau, providing personalised social and community connections.

Sessions may include:

  • Sports and Recreation
  • Wellness / Relationship Building
  • Art (Music) Culture
  • Life Skills:
    • Volunteering
    • Education – Literacy / Numeracy

High Needs Service is open between the hours of 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday, or by prior arrangement. To learn more, call 06 873 8210 or contact below.
