Build Independence

Community Participation Service

About our Community Participation Service

Community Participation is a service assisting people with disabilities to be valued contributors to their community, helping them to have the confidence, skills and support of their families and friends to reach their potential.

Community Support Facilitators work alongside you, empowering you to achieve your goals and to become independent in your life. Activities are structured around your individual choices, encouraging natural supports and fostering broader relationships to flourish.

Community Support Facilitators provide life skills tuition including cooking, community awareness and keeping sfe as well as some fitness and recreational activities – leading to you enrolling in clubs and other associations in your community.

You are given opportunities to contribute to society through volunteering for local not-for-profit organisations, where the skills gained can lead to paid employment in commercial businesses.
